Westminster Study Groups

WPC Book Club

(Meeting September through May)

Please join the WPC Book Club on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 11:30 a.m. in the library for a discussion led by Jare Smith on Educated by Tara Westover. “Educated is Tara Westover’s memoir and it follows her journey from rural Idaho to the PhD program at Cambridge University as she struggles against her family’s devout, isolationist religious beliefs and fights for an education, learning along the way that to be educated is to learn much more about the world than what is contained in books.”

Typically, we meet the third Wednesday of each month in the WPC library from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  This time slot  was chosen to encourage our working congregation members to treat themselves once a month and join others for a break in their regular lunch routines.  We also hope that those of you who do not like evening driving will prefer this new time and meet more often.  Everyone is welcome to join when they can, and when the book selection sparks their interest; we always appreciate book suggestions, as we try to stay flexible with the reading list.

Please mark this and the other third Wednesdays thru May on your calendar so you can join us whenever the book of the month is of interest.

Contact Suzie Williams for more info.

Women of Westminster (W.O.W.) Groups

(Meeting September through May)
In our study groups, we read, share, question, and reflect with the hope that we will grow in faith. All of our groups are open to new members!

All study groups meet the second week of the month.  The Tuesday and Saturday groups are studying the 2019-2020 Horizons Bible Study, “Love Carved in Stone: A Fresh Look at the Ten Commandments,” by Eugenia Anne Gamble and Joyce MacKichan Walker. The Thursday group is studying “Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others” by Barbara Brown Taylor.
