What to Expect

Welcome to Westminster!

Here’s an overview of a typical Sunday morning at WPC:

8:30 Worship – A less formal, smaller service where communion is served each Sunday.

9:25 Morning Manna – a time for food and fellowship for all ages in Fellowship Hall.

9:50 – 10:45 Sunday School classes for 3 year-olds to adults of all ages – Child care is available for infants and toddlers.

11:00 Worship – A more traditional service with communion served the first Sunday of each month.

During the summer months – We offer one service w/ communion at 10:00 a.m.

Children are always welcome in worship!  Nursery care is available for younger children who grow restless.

A brief fellowship time in the library and narthex follows the 11:00 worship service featuring coffee, juice, cookies and lots of good conversation.  We hope you will join us!

No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you’re welcome here.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is an inclusive spiritual community for all of God’s people.  No matter your faith background, you’ll find Westminster a place where you can strengthen your faith and meet others who are on similar faith journeys.

Our church life centers itself around weekly worship.  We think you’ll find the sermons engaging and thought provoking.  On Sunday mornings, you’ll find inspiring liturgical services offered at 8:30 and 11:00.  Sunday School classes for children and youth and adult Christian education classes are offered between worship services from 9:50-10:45,  and are a great way to get to know people and to enrich personal spiritual growth.

When you visit, you’ll find greeters waiting to welcome you.  When you’re ready, please take an Order of Worship from an usher, and have a seat.  If you’d like to listen to a sermon now, click here. Once seated, we’d love for you to sign the red friendship register book at the end of each pew so we can have a record of your presence with us.

No matter your faith background, you’ll find Westminster a place where you can strengthen your faith and meet others who are on similar faith journeys.

Feel free to move around and greet people during the “Passing of the Peace.” This is a nice time to meet a few people and know that you are welcome as one of God’s children.  During the Lord’s Prayer, you’ll hear us say “debts” and “debtors” rather than “trespasses” and “those who trespass against us.”  If you have a prayer request, you can fill out a prayer request card located on the back of the pew, and place it in the collection plate.

Children of all ages are always welcome in worship at Westminster.  Children’s worship activity bags are located on the cushioned seats just outside the library doors in the narthex (the entry space to the sanctuary).  A nursery, located in Room 2 of the Education Wing, is available during each service for infants and preschoolers who grow restless.  There are “worship bags” available at the entrances to the sanctuary to help keep little fingers busy and attentive during the service. Families are also welcome to listen to the service from our Library where larger toys are tucked away nearby.

Large print hymnals and bulletins are available in the narthex, and an usher will be happy to help you find them.

After the service, we have refreshments in the narthex as well as our Fellowship Hall building, located between the sanctuary and the parking lot.  Exit the south doors of the narthex and follow everybody else.  Also, following the service every Sunday, Elders in the narthex and outside the library are available to receive new members or to answer any questions you may have.

Westminster offers many opportunities for you to get to know others. Simply click on the Church Life tab at the top of our homepage to find more and learn what may call you to Westminster Presbyterian Church.

We’re saving a place for you!
