Sunday, June 24, 2018 – Fifth Sunday after Pentecost
Worship/communion at 10:00 a.m.
Leaders: The Rev. Bill Clark, the Rev. Ellen Williams, the Rev. Lana Russell
Sermon: We will continue our summer theme, “Singing the Faith” – Sunday’s Hymn: A Mighty Fortress Is Our God
Scripture:1 Peter 5:6-11, Psalm 46
The normal worship schedule consists of 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services. Following the 8:30 a.m. service, all are welcome to Morning Manna in Fellowship Hall, a time for food and fellowship for all ages. Our Church School for All Ages begins at 9:50 a.m.
During the summer months, there is one worship service offered at 10 a.m.
(May 27-August 19, 2018).
After the 11:00 a.m. service, everyone is invited for refreshments in the Library to visit with members and meet visitors and guests. Church Elders are available following this service to provide information for visitors and receive new members.
The 8:30 a.m. service is less formal and communion is served each week. The 11:00 a.m. service is traditional and communion is served the first Sunday of each month.
Special worship services are held throughout the liturgical year. During Lent, Holy Week and Easter, Advent, Christmas, and other special days of the year, services unique to each season are offered. Additional special services range from a Sunday planned solely by the Westminster youth, to a Gospel Brunch during the summer in Fellowship Hall, to a special Healing and Wholeness service.
Regardless of the service you attend, you’ll find a welcoming group of people gathered to praise and glorify God through scripture, proclamation of the word, music, and prayer; who leave the worship service forgiven, renewed, and recommitted to living their lives in gratitude and service to Jesus Christ.
*During the summer months, WPC offers one worship service at 10:00 a.m. A summer Bible Study class also meets at 8:45 a.m. in Room 9.
