Sunday School
We are going outside for Sunday School this year! Not only do we get added safety from the pandemic, but we get all the benefits of nature! Parents report that children are calmer with more time outside and our bodies have more time to wiggle and express themselves.

Parents, please drop off your children at 9:45 a.m. on the large playground. We’ll be together for some activities and then split into smaller age-based groups to play, have discussions, and do crafts specific to the day’s Bible story. Bring a mask in case we need to get close to each other for an activity. All adults working with children commit to being vaccinated and will wear masks when in close proximity to the children.

Child Care
Child care is available on Sundays beginning at 9:15 a.m. for infants and toddlers during Sunday school and worship. The nursery is located in Room 2 of the Education Wing. Marta Woodard leads a dedicated staff of caring attendants who have provided loving care for Westminster’s youngest for many years.

Children of Westminster and friends of Westminster are invited to join us on the All Church Retreat at Mo-Ranch. Families tend to stay together, and we join together for meals in a common area called Nicholas Place. Saturday morning there’s an adult program and a children’s program (many parents love this little break)! Then, Saturday afternoon there’s free time to enjoy the beauty of Mo-Ranch’s spot on the Guadalupe River, visiting a shallow water dip at “The Rapids” or a wade at the swimming pool. We close with worship Sunday morning at the cross on the hill. You’ll be glad you made the effort to get out of town!

Westminster’s Passages Program
Westminster marks the development of a child’s faith using our Passages Program. As children grow from babies to confirmation, children develop their ability to recognize God’s good gifts in their lives. We mark this growth in worship using the Passages program. We present first graders with books written by some of our members about worship. These explain the parts of our worship service and unique features of our worship space. We present third graders with their own Bible. We present fifth graders with the Presbyterian hymnal. Please contact Charlotte Trafton if you are interested in including your child in the Passages program.

For Westminster Presbyterian Church’s VBS, plan to save the date: July 25-29, 2022. For more information and to register, click here. A food truck party is coming to VBS! Rediscover all the ways God has used food throughout our salvation history to connect, nourish and bring us joy! Something’s really cookin’ at VBS this summer! VBS is for children ages 3-4th grade. WPC’s VBS is a morning camp followed by an afternoon half-day camp. Children and youth who’ve finished 5th grade through 12th grade serve as our sous chefs to support us as we roll with the food truck through Bible stories newly heard! Adults can volunteer with home prep of crafts, helping one morning or even in helping us put up decorations. We’re  looking forward to a great 2022 summer!
