VBS 2023

Westminster’s VBS 2024 is July 22– 26!

Westminster’s VBS 2024 is July 22th – 26th – We’re joining a lightning bug named Lumen to learn how to trust God all the time, even when we feel afraid.

Register to Join Firelight VBS Click on the website’s top bar “Child Registration.”

We have an After-VBS Camp with Austin Youth Fitness called Bike the City. The camp runs from 12 – 4 pm. Campers will eat lunch and relax inside with a movie from 12-1, then bike (either on campus for young ones or around the city, depending on abilities age) from 1-4 pm. Plan to bring helmets, water bottles & bikes before VBS to be locked securely together. Registration information can be found here.

How much? VBS at WPC is $50 for the 1st child in the family, $25 for each additional child. Please pay by credit card through our secure website here. In the Memo line, please tell us your oldest participant’s name. We recommend that you open this link in Google Chrome.

Volunteers:
In order to keep our VBS inexpensive, we ask all VBS families to contribute volunteer hours before, during, or after VBS. We can provide “at home” materials to prep for us, you can help on a Saturday workday, guide groups through VBS, or help us clean up afterwards. We provide a nursery for 2-year-olds and younger if a parent volunteers during VBS week. Register to Volunter @ Firelight VBS Click on the website’s top bar “Volunteer Sign Up”.

What’s the VBS theme this year?
Camp Firelight is based on Psalm 56:3 “Whenever I’m afraid, I put my trust in you.” This verse reminds us that God is with us through every situation, including times when we might be afraid. Campers join first-time counselor Sam and Lou (short for Lumen),the lightning bug puppet, and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. With the help of Sam and Lou, campers explore timeless Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament people trusted God in face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God’s name. Camp includes recreation, science and art activities in addition to Bible storytelling.

What if my plans change? Once you register, you can cancel by emailing our church contact, Charlotte Trafton.
Expect to get an email from us two weeks before VBS starts. If you do not get this email, you are not registered.

Who can attend? Summer 3-year-olds through current 4th graders (rising 6th – 12th graders are encouraged to register as volunteers!) PLUS, if your family team sends a volunteer during the week, babies through 2-year-olds can join childcare in the nursery for the whole VBS week.

Time? Our Vacation Bible School (aka “VBS”) runs from 9 am – 12:00 pm.
Austin Youth Fitness after-VBS camp runs from 12:00 pm – 4 pm.
It’s a whole day of fun for everyone!
