Education Wing Improvements

“The new ceilings and lighting have a much cleaner and brighter look.
We’re grateful
to have gotten rid of the old, popcorn ceilings and to have
a newly updated space!”

~ Jessica Johnson, Day School Director

The ductwork in the Education Wing ceilings has leaked for several years, and there were concerns that mold would build up in the affected areas, creating health issues for our Day School and Church School children and teachers. During the summer of 2023, old asbestos insulation was abated, ductwork was repaired, and new drop-ceilings and lighting were installed in all the classrooms, nursery, bathrooms, and the Day School office.

Our values of love, compassion, and responsibility call our congregation to protect and promote the well-being of others. The possibility of health concerns in the Education Wing demanded a proactive response, to which we swiftly responded. Now the improved spaces will benefit children for years to come.

The Day School coordinated this project and covered 50% of the $160,000, with the church funding the balance of $80,000 from reserves, to retroactively be raised through philanthropy.

Total Cost: $80,000
